The Last Laugh comes to Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre
Three of Britain's most beloved comedy legends are brought back to life in this warm, funny and critically acclaimed theatrical celebration of laughter
Following a successful West End run, a season in New York and an acclaimed UK tour, The Last Laugh arrives at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre from 14 - 18 July 2026.
Written and directed by Paul Hendy, the production imagines comedy icons Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe and Bob Monkhouse sharing a dressing room as they discuss life, death, comedy and what it truly means to make people laugh.
Warm, nostalgic, poignant and packed with laughs, The Last Laugh became a sell-out success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before transferring to London's West End, where it earned widespread critical acclaim and five-star reviews.
Three comedy legends reunited on stage
Britain's Got Talent finalist Steve Royle stars as Eric Morecambe, joined by Damian Williams as Tommy Cooper and Simon Cartwright as Bob Monkhouse. Richard Hodder completes the company as the walking cover for all three roles.
Producer Jamie Wilson said he was delighted to be bringing the production back on tour following its remarkable success across the UK, New York and London's West End.
Steve Royle is widely known for his appearances as a comedian, actor and variety performer, while Damian Williams and Simon Cartwright return to roles that earned praise from audiences and critics alike during previous productions.
