The Promenade

The Promenade is one of the most stylish shopping boulevards in England and is home to some of the best-known fashion houses, shoe shops and bookstores. Major stores such as such as Cavendish House, Habitat, Hoopers, Laura Ashley, Waterstones and Bally can be found here.

The High Street

In the High Street there are fashionable shopping arcades such as the Regent Arcade Shopping Centre where you will find well known stores including BHS, The Body Shop and Mothercare as well as smaller individual shops. The feature of the Regent Arcade Shopping Centre is the famous Wishing Fish Clock designed by Kit Williams. Every half hour the magical performance of the bubble-blowing clock brings the arcade to a standstill. Catch a bubble and your wish will come true!

Further along the High Street is the Beechwood Shopping Centre housing Next, the Disney Store and Debenhams. Cheltenham's Shopmobility Scheme operates from here. Famous names such as Marks and Spencer, Littlewoods and Boots are also located along the High Street. Between the Promenade and Regent Arcade Shopping Centre is Regent Street, home to the Everyman Theatre and a wide variety of bars, cafes, restaurants and boutiques.

Sunday Shopping

Cheltenham town centre offers a seven-day shopping experience with over 100 shops open on Sundays from 11am.

Montpellier and Suffolk

A truly continental flavour can be found in the Montpellier and Suffolks areas, where there is an abundance of specialist boutiques and gift shops, together with pavement cafes and fashionable wine bars.
Visit the Courtyard in Montpellier Street and the Antiques Centre in Suffolk Road. Good local shopping can be found in Bath Road.

Antiques

Cheltenham is an important centre for collectors of antiques. There is a concentration of well-established antiques dealers in the Montpellier and Suffolks areas. Monthly Antiques and Collectors Fairs are staged at the Cheltenham Racecourse on Sundays.

Farmers Markets

Cheltenham's Farmers Markets are held on the Promenade in front of the Tourist Information Centre on the second and last Friday of each month. Over 30 stalls will tempt you with fresh and natural produce including delicious cheeses, mouth-watering meats and a wide variety of vegetables. Highly recommended!
