Cheltenham Spa - 'The Festival Town of England', centre for the Cotswolds and home of National Hunt horse racing. With magnificent Regency architecture, many sights to see, places to visit and great shopping, it really is a great place to explore.
The discovery of the Spa waters and the visit of George III in 1790 turned Cheltenham into a fashionable place to be seen. The heritage of those times left a huge impression on the town as can still be seen in the impressive buildings. Today Cheltenham is renowned for its excellent shopping and floral displays. It hosts annual Jazz, Science, Literature and Music Festivals and of has course the Cheltenham National Hunt Festival.
Cheltenham has won many 'Beautiful Britain in Bloom' awards and has been descibed as a "town within a park". In addition, the variey of wine bars, restaurants and coffee bars give the town a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
