How do the banners work?

Banner advertising is a successful form of visual brand awareness and an eye-catching way to announce an event or promotion.
Explore Gloucestershire offer more than the usual standard size banners which appear on the majority of websites - our banners are much bigger, thus giving more impact!

As with most websites, Explore Gloucestershire's banner advertising system works with randomly rotating banners, which change when a new page is either clicked on, or a page refreshed.

The website is split into 6 sections as follows:

1. MASTER pages (Pages include: Homepage, What's On, Event Lisitngs, News & Reviews, Competition, Offers & Promotions and all other generic pages)
   
2. Gloucester
   
3. Cheltenham
   
4. The Cotswolds
   
5. Forest of Dean
   
6. Tewkesbury & Severn Vale

Important: Up to *5 'Skyscraper' banners and 5 'Footer' banners randomly rotate on each section at any one time, except the 'MASTER' pages where up to *8 of each can appear.

The 'Skyscraper' Banner

• Where situated on web page: Appears centrally in the right hand column.
• Size: 197 pixels wide x 491pixels high
• Formats available: Can be supplied as .jpg, .gif or Flash .swf

The 'Footer' Banner

• Where situated on web page: Appears centrally at the foot of each web page.
• Size: 515 pixels wide x 142 pixels high
• Formats available: Can be supplied as .jpg, .gif or Flash .swf

How much do the banners cost?

Prices per section, per month.

Example 1: A 'Skyscraper' banner advert within the Cheltenham section for 6 months would cost 6 x £175 = £1050 + vat.
Example 2: A 'Skyscraper' banner in Gloucester section and a 'Footer' banner in the Master pages for 12 months woould cost 12 x £150 (£1800) + 12 x £50 (£600) = £2400 + vat.

All prices subject to VAT.

There is no set up cost but there will be a design fee of £50 per banner** creation if required.
** Banner advert creation for static banners only. Animated banners can be created - prices start from £80.

Please be aware that space is limited and early booking is very advisable, especially at seasonal times and during school holidays.
