The Restaurant at the Falcon Hotel in Painswick

The Falcon commands the most wonderful position in the picturesque town of Painswick, known as “The Queen of the Cotswolds”.
Opposite St Mary’s church which has been described as “the grandest churchyard in England, with its unique collection of monuments and its famous 99 Yew Trees, providing some of the best views to wake up to with the rolling countryside reaching out above and beyond the horizon.

Our 11 individual bedrooms ( providing family, triple, double and twin configurations)are situated on 2 floors of the main house, with 3 rooms within The Coach House(all with ensuite facilities, tea/coffee trays, Freeview TV/Radio) parking is available at the rear of the hotel.

The Restaurant opens from 8am to 10pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is also a cosy meeting point for morning coffee or afternoon tea. Menus are created by our chef and his brigade with some idea’s thrown in by the owner, fresh local ingredients are used wherever possible, we are proud to work with local suppliers, like The Country Butcher at Huntley who provides us with the best quality meat possible, favourites on our menu are always our ribeye and fillet steaks, the lamb shank and our Sunday roasts are always worth waiting for. Complemented by an interesting wine list to include new world and more traditional wines, best loved are the Vidal Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Corte Vigna Pinot Grigio, Rare Vineyards Pinot Noir and Ravenswood Zinfandel from California, there is also a wide range of wines by the glass.

The Popular bar loved by locals and residents sets the ambience, with a wide variety of beers, lagers and real ales, constantly serving Hook Norton from Oxfordshire, B.O.B from Wickwar Brewery, Gloucestershire, our 3rd hand pull is for guest ales so is always changing, our broad collection of spirits is crowned by The Gin List with 10 of our favourites, Hendricks, Bloom, Bombay and Sip Smiths Sloe Gin all make the top ten. We have also sourced an eclectic range of mixers and soft drinks which includes Fever Tree, Belvoir and Orchard Pig.

The Falcon is a family business and the owners are very much involved and care, there is always a warm welcome and this is shared by all the staff.
