Christmas in Cirencester celebrations start this weekend
Christmas in Cirencester celebrations start this weekend with the annual Cirencester Advent Festival and light switch on.
Festivities get underway at 11am with the opening of the markets. There are also lots of activities on offer throughout the day including:
- Advent Market
- Arts and Crafts Market
- Street Food and Drink
- Santa
- Fair Rides
- Live Stage Performances
- Pop-up Performances
- Fireworks
The day reaches a climax at 7pm as the Christmas lifts are switched on by BBC Countryfile presenter Ellie Harrison, followed by a firework display from the top of the Parish Church.
There will be road closures in place in the town centre from midnight Friday 29 November to midnight Saturday 30 November. The following roads will be subject to closures with signed diversions in place. There will be access for residents affected but deliveries and contractors must be arranged outside the closure times.

- Cricklade Street closed at Castle Street Junction
- Castle Street closed at Silver Street Junction
- Dyer Street closed at North Way Junction
- Black Jack Street closed at Park Street Junction
- Coxwell Street closed at Thomas Street Junction
