Museum celebrate Queens Platinum Jubilee with messages from Gloucester school children…

The Museum of Gloucester is delighted to welcome flags designed by school children (from 18 Gloucester schools) with their messages for the future, running from Friday 20 May to Sunday 12 June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Gloucester River of Hope is inspired by the River of Hope project celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The River of Hope is an arts-based learning project linking schools around the world through the study of rivers.

The Gloucester River of Hope event celebrates the River Severn and the Goddess Sabrina where 18 schools in Gloucester have created flags that share the children’s messages for the future…

Cllr Andrew Lewis, cabinet member for Culture said: “I am delighted that this significant and important milestone in the reign of Queen Elizabeth II is being celebrated by the children of Gloucester and that both they and the museum have had the privilege of working together to co-curate this special event. This collaboration will allow school children and their families, (alongside many other audiences in the city and beyond) to visit and see their own artwork on display in the most respected exhibition space in the city.”
