Katherine Jenkins Westonbirt concert announced for the summer.

Superstar diva, Katherine Jenkins OBE has announced a special concert this summer, appearing at Westonbirt Arboretum as part of the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live concert calendar.
Katherine Jenkins is the world’s most prolific classical crossover artist. In 2003 she signed the biggest-ever recording contract for a classical artist and has since become the premiere ambassador of bringing classical music to a mainstream audience. Her stratospheric rise made Katherine the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano ever. To date, Katherine has released nine studio albums, all of which have sold in excess of seven million copies and gone platinum around the world. She has received numerous awards for her recordings, including two Classical BRITS for the coveted Album of the Year Award. Due to international demand, Katherine spends much of her time touring the world. In 2013 alone she toured South Africa, the US, China, Japan, Abu Dhabi, and also continental Europe, cementing her position as one of the UK’s greatest musical exports. Her most recent accolade is receiving an OBE in the 2014 New Year Honours List for services to music and charity, in particular, her work with the armed forces.
Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission, bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on caring for this internationally important tree collection and improving the arboretum for both people and wildlife.
Katherine Jenkins last played the venue to a capacity crowd in 2008, and commenting on her forthcoming concert she said, “I am really looking forward to returning to Westonbirt Arboretum this summer to perform again in such a beautiful location.” The concert will include a selection of Katherine’s favourite works as well as classic proms repertoire.
