Gloucester shouts about its future!

Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company

Gloucester town cryer Alan Myatt will be shouting about the city’s future at the end of this month when he helps to promote Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company’s (GHURC) free ‘Future of the City’ event being held from 30 April to 3 May at Blackfriars Priory.

This free event is being held to encourage everyone to come and see for themselves how the city’s regeneration is starting to have an impact on their lives.

Over the four-day event, local schools, businesses and the general public can drop into Blackfriars Priory to see for themselves how the city’s regeneration is progressing.

Visitors can talk to the developers, see the up to date designs of what is planned as well as finding out how they can benefit from the new jobs, opportunities and homes in the pipeline.

Throughout the event, there will also be entertainment, including living history actors, circus skills troupes and music, bringing the event to life.

Pupils from schools across the city will be exhibiting their artwork on what they think the City will look like in 2016, when the regeneration is completed.

Over 30 organisations, including both local community groups and national developers, will be exhibiting at the event.

‘The Future of the City’ event begins on Wednesday 30 April with visits by local schools.

During the day on Friday and Saturday the exhibition will open to the public who can also take part in conducted tours around the Priory.

On Friday evening, 2 May, local businesses and those interested in the on-going City regeneration will be invited to hear progress presentations from key GHURC board members and other URC stakeholders.
