Let your senses guide you to Chedworth Roman Villa this Easter

A new-style nature trail is being tested this Easter at Chedworth Roman Villa, encouraging children to let their senses guide them around the villa, discovering nature as they go. After picking up the trail at reception, families are encouraged to make their way around the National Trust site, looking and listening out for signs of nature, making note of the sounds they hear and the animals they see. The trail will run from Saturday 6 April until the end of the school holidays.
There will be a selection of activities available, with the Learning Pavilion full of seasonal crafts. Families can make a mosaic tile or a badge, try out some paper crafts and do some colouring. There will also be a rail filled with costumes, providing the chance to dress up a Roman soldier, or maybe a slave. Ellie the Ranger will also be on site running some 50 Things to do before you’re 11¾ craft workshops on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 17 April.
The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt will be returning to Chedworth Roman Villa from Friday 19 – Monday 22 April, with families invited to explore the ancient Roman site searching for the clues to help them claim their chocolate prize. Every Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt will help protect this special National Trust site for future explorers.

Last, but definitely not least, Chedworth’s Romans, the wonderful costumed interpreters, will be on site over the holidays to help bring the ancient site to life. They will also be treating visitors with a number of special events. Dr Quintus will give his Roman Surgery talk “Blood on their Hands” on Saturday 20 April, and Lady Octavia, her slave Drusilla and her esteemed Mother-in-Law, Bodicaccia have opened an invitation to attend “A Visitors Guide to Roman Dining.”
