Scuttlebrook Wake

A Traditional Cotswold Celebration of Summer

Held annually in Chipping Campden, Scuttlebrook Wake is a vibrant and historic Cotswold event steeped in local tradition. The festivities take place on the Saturday following the town’s annual Dover’s Games and bring the streets alive with colour, music, and community spirit.

A highlight of the wake is the crowning of the Scuttlebrook Queen, followed by a joyful procession featuring floats, bands, entertainers, and fancy dress. Expect a lively atmosphere with traditional fairground rides, stalls, and plenty of opportunities for family fun. The high street transforms into a hub of celebration where locals and visitors gather to honour this centuries-old tradition.

Scuttlebrook Wake is a true display of Cotswold heritage and hospitality, showcasing the strong community bonds of Chipping Campden. Whether it is your first time attending or part of an annual tradition, it is a memorable day out for all ages.

Perfectly timed at the start of summer, the event offers a great reason to explore the charming streets and historic buildings of Chipping Campden, while soaking in an authentic local experience.
