Gloucestershire is looking stunning at the moment in full bloom, and we’re all keeping our fingers crossed that this fabulous weather is going to continue. At last we can all get outdoors and experience some of the great events on offer this month.

The month begins with the 66th Cheltenham Music Festival which celebrates the 100th Anniversary since the birth of Schumann. The Cotswold Show returns for a weekend of country pursuits which promises a great weekend for all the family. The ever awesome Royal International Air Tattoo is on the 18 July – but tickets are available only in advance – so don’t miss out.

Following the devastating results in the World Cup sports fans in Gloucestershire can look forward to one of own sporting highlights of the year – the 2010 Cheltenham Cricket Festival.

More relaxing pastimes include the lure of 'Tapas on the Terrace' at the Wharf House which has all the ingredients for a great summer evening . Why not take full advantage of the weather and grab a picnic for  some great outdoor theatre at Sandford Parks Lido, Hidcote Manor Gardens and Gloucester Quays, live concerts at Westonbirt Arboretum or even a spot of strawberry picking at Over Farm and Primrose Vale.

The school holidays are upon us and our special pages have lots of events and activities for the whole family. There’s even a whole new way to explore Gloucestershire with Gloucestershire Treasure Trails.

July’s competition includes the following prizes:

  • Meal for 2 at The Craven Arms in Brockhampton, near Cheltenham
  • Family ticket to Cotswold Wildlife Park
