Autumn has arrived and soon the gardens will be awash with leaves. It’s the perfect time of year to get out and about and take in some refreshing Gloucestershire air, while experiencing the amazing autumn colours. Why not take your camera and visit the Royal Forest of Dean or the arboretum’s at Westonbirt near Tetbury and Batsford just outside Moreton-in-Marsh, and take photographs of the spectacular displays of reds, oranges, browns and purples. If you think your photo’s are good enough you could enter them into our ‘Gloucestershire at it’s Best’ photography competition and even win Jessops vouchers worth £250!
October gets off to a great start with highly acclaimed Times Cheltenham Literature Festival getting underway from 9th – 18th. The Festival continues to attract some very impressive names, and this year including Dame Judi Dench, Michael Palin, Jack Dee, Mitchell & Webb and Stephen Fry. Guests for the The Book It! Festival for young readers include David Walliams, Julia Donaldson, Michael Morpurgo, Lauren Child and Johnny Ball to name but a few. The Festival really does cater for all ages.
The Autumn half term holiday is upon us later this month and we have again included our popular Halloween section with lots to see and do during the school holiday. Prinknash Bird and Deer Park are holding their second Halloween event when the whole park will be transformed with a Halloween theme. The emphasis will be on fun rather than fear!!. Over Farm will again become Frightmare, with fun events during the day and scary ones during the evening (more suited to older children and adults).
September's competition has great family tickets for this month’s Halloween events including family Prinknash Bird and Deer Park and Frightmare at Over. There’s also the chance to win a family ticket for the Superstars of Wrestling at GL1. We also have tickets to see G2 – the best Genesis tribute band in the UK!
