Pedalabikeaway is the only bike hire company in the Forest of Dean where all the cycling trails depart from - from the scenic 10-mile, traffic-free Family Trail, to the more challenging Verderers’ and Freeminers mountain bike trails and a wide range of downhill tracks - there is literally riding for everyone!

NEW FOR 2021

Pedalabikeaway is pleased to announce that they have a new bike hire location in the Wye Valley!  Based at the NDAC (National Diving and Activity Centre) just outside Chepstow, they are based at the start of the brand new Wye Valley Greenway. A 7km traffic free trail that goes to Tintern through the 1.1km Tidenham Tunnel, running alongside the beautiful river Wye and finishing at the 12th Century Tintern Abbey. This unforgettable cycle path is open from April to October.

Open for pre-booked leisure bike hire daily from 9am - 5.30pm.

The Wye Valley Greenway Trail

Looking for things to do with the kids? The new Wye Valley Greenway trail is the perfect day out!

The traffic-free trail winds its way 7km along the Wye Valley from the trail start at the National Dive and Activity Centre (NDAC)  to the picturesque village of Tintern.  It’s an entertaining journey that is made all the more special by travelling through a 1.1km long tunnel!

  • Trail Length: 7km each way
  • Trail Time:2 hours to all day!
  • Highlights:12th Century Tintern Abby, the scenic Wye river, Tidenham Tunnel


The trail surface is unpaved, so can be bumpy or muddy in the wet
It is open April to October, daytime hours only
It passes through the 1080 m long Tidenham tunnel  (opened for the first time to the public in 2021) and provide a level track from the National Diving & Activity Centre to connect with existing trails in the Wye Valley that continue to Tintern.
