What a fabulous month ahead in Gloucestershire there is for all to enjoy.
One of our favourites is the quirky Cotswold Olimpick Games over at Dover Hill, where teams fight it out in a variety of madcap games and entertainment. The world famous shin-kicking rounds off the evening on the hill before more revelling and celebrations continue into the night in Chipping Camden.
Music is in abundance too in June with the highly acclaimed Wychwood Music Festival and the Cheltenham Music Festival in Cheltenham, the Taurus Crafts Blues Festival at Lydney and X factor favourites Alexandra Burke and Rebecca Ferguson will be performing at Cheltenham Racecourse as will ‘people’s tenor’ Russell Watson.
The Whitsun holidays are full of fun and activities to help entertain the children including stepping back in time at the Corinium Museum with an Anglo-Saxon re-enactment, shearing at Cotswold Farm Park, Days Out with Thomas at Dean Forest Railway and a chance to meet Kung Fu Panda at The Brewery in Cheltenham. Our special ‘School’s Out’ pages are there to help you find these and many other events and attractions throughout the holidays – updated daily!
The superb Cheltenham Science Festival is back again from the 7 – 12 June with a multitude of talks, demonstrations and fun activities for all ages to explore.
Dad’s can be spoilt this Father’s Day on the 19 June with a trip to the Cotswold Air Show at Kemble, where the 60th anniversary of the legendary Hawker Hunter will be celebrated with many jets taking to the skies. The weekend event also sees the awesome Vulcan displaying on the Saturday, and with plenty of on-the ground-entertainment the 2 days promise to be fantastic fun!
