Spandau Ballet West Country woodland concert announced

Spandua Ballet at Westonbirt

Spandau Ballet has announced a West Country woodland concert this summer as part of the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live music series.
Spandau Ballet is one of Britain’s most iconic bands having sold over 25 million records and scored numerous multi-platinum albums across the globe. The New Romantic revolutionaries established themselves as one of the super-groups of the 80s with a collection of classic hits such as: ‘To Cut A Long Story Short’, ‘Chant No. 1 (I Don’t Need This Pressure On)’, ‘Lifeline’, ‘Gold’, ‘Only When You Leave’, ‘I’ll Fly For You’, ‘Through The Barricades’ and ‘True’. After two decades apart, the band reformed in 2009, embarking on a sold-out tour. Last year saw the critically acclaimed release of the movie ‘Soul Boys of The Western World’, the first time their story has been documented on film.
Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring woods and forests to new audiences. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on managing this internationally important tree collection.
Over Forest Live’s 14 year history, money raised has contributed to a wide range of projects, from wildlife conservation to making improvements for visitors. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.
Commenting for the band, lead singer Tony Hadley said: “We’ve not done a Forest Live gig before so we are really looking forward to seeing you all down in the woods in July.”
