Dinosaurs now in the Cotswolds at Birdland Park & Gardens
Step back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the Cotswolds...
Calling all Dinosaur Hunters, Fossil Fanatics and Potential Palaeontologists! Birdland, Bourton-on-the-Water, has now opened its new visitor attraction, 'Jurassic Journey'.
Taking visitors back to when dinosaurs roamed the Cotswolds, more than 65 million years ago, embark on a fascinating expedition discovering life-size dinosaurs.
Track Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Postosuchus, Velociraptors in the Jurassic Journey trail. Explorers will be armed with special dinosaur tracker kits, and will venture in to a Jurassic-themed landscape which is home to more than 30 different dinosaurs ranging from a metre-long baby stegosaurus to 5 metre tall brachiosaurus.
Visitors will also be able to spot dinosaur eggs along with complete dinosaur skeletons. As well as providing an exciting new attraction for visitors, the ‘Jurassic Journey’ trail is also a reminder that today’s bird species are directly descended from dinosaurs.
Other species to look out for will be the spectacular flying Pteranodon, Allosaurus, and the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Along the trail visitors will be able to have a go at searching for fossils in the Dino Dig where there will be activity tables to learn more about dinosaurs.
Leaving the trail visitors will meet Birdland’s ratites, prehistoric-looking birds, and will be able to spot the similarities between the live birds and the dinosaurs.
The new Jurassic Journey is perfect for all the family to have fun and learn about our prehistoric past.
