REVIEW: Wychwood Festival 2015 & tickets for 2016

Wychwood Festival 2015

As Wychwood drew to a close for another year we could only reflect on what has been another fabulous weekend family event.

Located at Cheltenham Racecourse, parking, camping and good facilities were never going to be a problem and this is one of the great things about Wychwood. The whole site is well planned and spacious and it really is geared up for the whole family to enjoy.

The programme of music over the weekend began on Friday evening with pop legends Boney M, The Undertones and Dreadzone, and continued on Saturday with Electric Swing Circus, The Proclaimers and UB40 (with Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue). Sunday saw more great performances from Dr & The Medics and the finale from Ladysmith Black Mambazo. In the Hobgoblin Tent we were treated to some great comedy from Keith Farnan, Michael Legge and Jarred Christmas, to name but a few.

The CBeebies favourite, Justin Fletcher, aka Mr. Tumble returned to Wychwood this year. He is always a great hit with both the children and the mums! There was plenty to keep the children entertained with circus workshops, literature festival, roller disco and creative craft activities. Everyone seemed to have their faces painted and the new fancy dress competition was apparent everywhere! The theme for this year being the 1970’ s brought out some very vivid costumes. When the children tired many were seen tucked up in comfy festival trollies, which were available to hire. It was just a short ride back to the campsite. For those wishing to party into the small hours the headphone disco was the place to be.

On site as always you could find a good selection of food and drink and the stalls gave the opportunity for some retail therapy.

Wychwood returns to Cheltenham Racecourse in 2016 on Friday 3 to Sunday 5 June 2016.

Tickets are now on sale so if you want to bag your self a hefty discount and a great festival experience for only £102 (including camping) click here
