New arrival and an exciting Spring at Cotswold Falconry Centre

Cotswold Falconry Centre at Batsford Arboretum

Latest from Cotswold Falconry Centre this Spring!

Cotswold Falconry Centre is thrilled to introduce its latest addition to the family, Hare, a 24-year-old Indian Tawny Eagle hailing from the now closed International Centre for Birds of Prey (ICBP). Despite his seasoned experience in front of audiences, Hare has seamlessly integrated into the displays after just a week of training. With his impressive broad wings and adaptability to blustery conditions, Hare has already showcased stunning flights, captivating spectators with his grace and beauty.

In addition to Hare's arrival, Cotswold Falconry Centre is delighted to announce the commencement of the breeding season. The dedicated team at Cotswold Falconry Centre is overjoyed to share that the Ruppell's and White-Backed Vultures are currently incubating eggs. This news is particularly significant as both species are classified as Critically Endangered, making the prospect of healthy hatchlings a momentous occasion.

Among the vulture parents-to-be is Jimmy, a male Ruppell's Vulture, a familiar face to many who have attended flying displays over the years.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hare to our centre and to witness the beginning of the breeding season with our vulture pairs," said Mark Dalton at Cotswold Falconry Centre. "These developments underscore our commitment to conservation and education, as we strive to raise awareness about the importance of protecting endangered species."

Visitors to Cotswold Falconry Centre this year can look forward to experiencing captivating flying displays featuring Hare and other magnificent birds, as well as the opportunity to observe our vulture parents as they diligently care for their eggs.
