Originally opening its doors on Bristol Road in Gloucester in 2000, JDR Karting has developed over the past 25 years into one of the city’s go-to attractions for both locals and visitors alike.
It all began with the now legendary karting track — a thrilling 300-metre indoor circuit featuring high-speed banking corners, where racers can test their skills against friends or compete in events such as the Mini Enduro, Iron Man, Grand Prix and Super Prix.
A Shot in the Dark!
The success of karting soon led to the addition of the illuminating, pulse-racing experience of Darklight Laser Tag, where teamwork and tactical play meet in a glowing multi-level arena.
A favourite for birthday parties, family days out and office challenges, it’s the perfect test of skill, strategy and quick reactions — where friends become rivals until the final buzzer!

Over the last few years, JDR Karting has expanded even further, introducing Axe Throwing and Archery, both of which have proved instant hits with visitors seeking something truly different.
These additions have transformed the venue into the go-to hub for adventure in the county.

Another Three Fantastic Activities Went Live in October 2025!
Following a serious fire in 2024, the team bounced back stronger than ever. Their resilience led to the creation of the stunning Ocean Island Adventure Golf, an all-weather attraction showcasing the creative artwork of the same artist behind the laser tag’s dazzling arena.
The new facility features three themed zones — Ocean, Jungle and Aztec — alongside dedicated areas for Ice-Free Curling and Table Shuffleboard, as well as the relaxing Tiki Bar, offering refreshments for players and spectators alike.
