What's on at The Everyman in February 2008
February promises to be a busy month with a huge selection of entertainment on offer.
A Touch of Danger finishes on 2 February so you'd better be quick to catch this tense thriller. Februry also sees another great stage thriller in the form of Sleuth with Simon MacCorkindale and Michael Praed.
The Chinese State Circus will fill you with awe as they perform a spectacular show which will be held at The Centaur. In this, the year of the Beijing Olympics the cast include members of the Chinese Olympic team. So prepare yourself for something very special.
There's a huge selection of musical entertainment this month. In Memories are Made of Hits the award winning show group Smackee will be performing classic hits from the 50's and 60's. If you're a bit of jazz fan join us in The County Bar for Late Night Jazz with John Etheridge and an evening of mellow entertainment. More memorable hits will be performed by The Glenn Miller Tribute Orchestra with a set lasting more than two hours.
On the 19 February Beyond the Barricade will entertain us with a brand new production for 2008 recreating the songs, music and sounds of the worlds most popular musicals. The following day the spiritual music of Africa guarantees to stir your soul in a performance by the highly acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir. Due to popular demand another performance has been added at 2.30pm.
If you like a good old fashioned musical then Half a Sixpence will not dissapoint. An all star cast including TV and theatre favourite Gary Wilmot will recreate the heart warming story of Arthur Kipps.
Dipisha Patel : Right or Wrong will be held in The Studio Theatre on 8 February. The evening will explore South Asian classical dance with the Everymans Artist in Residence.
Towards the end of the month the theatre will be presenting two powerful dramas. The Deep Blue Sea starring Greta Saatchi is a drama of passion versus loyalty. Waiting for Mandy will be performed in The Studio Theatre. Performed by Stroud Theatre Company it is the remarkable story of a young girl and her journey into adulthood.
