Cotswolds Attractions Group - Juicy Snails, Dodgy Duck and Naked Gardeners!

Cotswolds Attractions Group Juicy Snails, Dodgy Duck and Naked Gardeners!

The best of the Cotswolds Attractions helping you make the most of your day out!

Get the most out of your day out in the glorious Cotswolds with a ready-made itinerary from the Cotswold Attractions Group. This new initiative for 2009 by the Cotswold Attractions Group promotes ready-made itineraries combining neighbouring attractions with advice on the prettiest places to stop en route.

The itineraries are available via the official Cotswolds tourism website, www.cotswolds.com, and will incorporate comprehensive suggestions that not only highlight the best of the visitor attractions in the area, but also recommendations for driving routes, good stopping places and information on mileage and times. All the thinking is done for you – making your day out planning delightfully easy.

Although the itineraries were originally aimed at group organisers, they have proved popular with locals and tourists alike. The suggestions highlight attractions and villages that visitors may not otherwise have considered visiting.

Visit Hailes Abbey in Winchcombe to see where the 16th Century monks fooled a nation with a holy relic of Christ’s blood – later proved by Tudor queen Anne Boleyn to be duck’s blood. Or the Roman Villa at Chedworth where the Roman residents fattened the large native snails on milk to savour as a delicacy. Or Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury, home of ‘The Naked Gardeners’ Ian & Barbara Pollard, who offer ‘clothes optional days’ to visitors with a passion to get closer to nature.

There is something to suit all tastes from glorious gardens and historic houses to fascinating museums and bird parks. Combine these with charming towns and villages such as Tetbury, Painswick or Chipping Campden and you have the perfect excuse for a restorative cream tea!

Visit www.cotswolds.com for downloadable, interactive versions of all of the itineraries, which bring together 18 attractions and information on nearby towns and villages - simply click on ‘Visitor Information’ and then on the link dedicated to group travel.
