Winter Glow Partners with Winston’s Wish for a Magical Christmas Event
Winter Glow and Winston's Wish Partner to Create Magical Moments for Bereaved Children
Winter Glow, the largest Christmas event in the West Midlands, has announced a heartwarming partnership with Winston’s Wish, the UK’s first children and young people’s bereavement charity. This collaboration aims to support grieving young people and their families during the holiday season, providing them with an opportunity for comfort and connection.
For the first-ever Winston’s Winter Glow Wander on Sunday, 1st December, Winston’s Wish will host the event’s illuminated light trail. Service-users and supporters will gain exclusive access to the magical Christmas light trail, located at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, creating unforgettable memories amid the festive lights and decorations.
This special event is designed to bring joy to families and friends facing the holiday season without loved ones. Local artists, lighting designers, and craftspeople have come together to create a light trail experience filled with enchanting displays, guiding visitors through an adventure with Jingle, Winter Glow’s Head Elf, to help restore joy to the Winter Village folk.
Tickets for this unique experience are offered at a discounted rate, with all proceeds supporting Winston’s Wish and their essential work in the Three Counties and across the UK. This funding will help the charity continue its vital services, including grief support and counselling for young people.
“We are thrilled to partner with Winston’s Wish and contribute to their invaluable work,” said Jenna Marks, Director at Winter Glow. “We’re on a mission to spread Christmas spirit across the three counties, so it’s a privilege to be able to provide a slice of magical escape to young people who are facing huge challenges in their day-to-day lives.”
Winston’s Wish provides a range of resources for bereaved children and young people, including the Grief in Common podcast, live chat, and freephone services, along with educational support for professionals in schools and healthcare settings. By partnering with Winter Glow, they aim to make a meaningful impact for countless families in need of extra support.
Nicole Gerrard, Campaigns and Events Manager at Winston’s Wish, shared, “We are delighted to be partnering with Winter Glow and are excited to be seeing our service users and supporters presented with the opportunity to enjoy what we know will be a magical experience during a time of year that can be very challenging. This event with Winter Glow will not only bring joy and comfort to bereaved children and young people but also help to raise awareness of our vital work and the support we offer.”
Winston’s Winter Glow Wander will be held from 4:30–5:30 pm on Sunday, 1st December. Tickets include entry to the light trail, free parking, and access to the Christmas market and food quarter. For more information or to book tickets, visit Winston's Winter Glow Wander.
