Name the Science Festival ale Competition

Name the Science Festival ale Competition To celebrate the forthcoming The Times Cheltenham Science Festival, the festival team and Battledown Brewery have joined forces to brew a special Festival ale in advance of the June festival. The Festival wants YOU to come up with a name for it.

The theme for this year's festival is Heresy so take your inspiration from that or anything else in this year's programme. The chosen winner will get a small cask of beer for themselves (over 18s only), a pair of tickets to the sold out Science of Beer event at the festival (Friday 5 June) and their suggested beer name produced into beer sold all across town.

How to enter: To enter your suggested name for the festival beer go to www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/beer

Closing date: Friday 15 May 2009 - 5pm

Selected pubs in Cheltenham will be overflowing with the scientific brew from late may and it will be on sale at the festival itself. Current participating pubs are the Five Alls, the Restoration, the Beehive and the Somerset Arms with more to follow.

Quote from Roland Elliot-Berry from Battledown Brewery;
‘It is always a great challenge coming up with a new beer to tantalise the taste buds and why not do a special festival brew.’

Quote from Sharon Bishop Festival Producer;
‘Once we had programmed a Science of Beer event it seemed like a great idea to brew a special festival beer and to get everyone involved in choosing a name for it. Ales are often given creative names and the festival programme offers plenty of inspiration, so let your imagination flow! I look forward to toasting another great festival.’
