Continental market returns to Cheltenham

Continental French Market

Cheltenham will be going continental again this week, when an international street market sets up its stalls alongside Long Gardens, next to the Promenade.
Due to the street market's popularity, the market will be returning for the sixth time, adding to Cheltenham's offering for shopping and tourist attractions.

More than 20 stalls, representing a host of European countries including France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain, will be selling a range of fruit, vegetables and cheeses, as well as hot food to take away.

Martin Quantock, manager of Cheltenham Business Partnership, says: "The continental market is now a regular feature in Cheltenham's calendar and draws many visitors to our town centre. The sights, tastes and smells of garlic and olives are for many people, the last reminder of summer holidays spent on the continent, before the nights draw in and winter is upon us. It’s great for putting a smile on everyone's face!"
The market has been co-ordinated by Geraud Markets, which also puts on Cheltenham's Christmas market.

  • Date: Thursday 21 - Sunday 24 October, 9am - 5.30pm
