Double value parking at two major town centre car parks throughout December

Glos Quays

Cheltenham Borough Council is running a special deal on car parking at two major town centre car parks in the run up to Christmas.

On the four Sundays of December, the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th customers can enjoy ‘No-Rush Sundays’, with double value parking at the Regent Arcade car park and Grosvenor Terrace car park off Albion Street. That means customers will stay for two hours for the price of one, four hours for the price of two, and so on.

Together, the car parks provide over a thousand spaces so there are plenty of spaces available for customers to stay longer to do their Christmas shopping and grab a bargain at the Boxing Day sales.

Rebecca Banner, parking administration manager, said: “We’re pleased to be able to provide this great value parking offer, as we want to encourage shoppers into Cheltenham. Christmas shopping can be very stressful so we hope this parking offer will ease the stress as people can take longer to do their shopping and enjoy all that Cheltenham has to offer over the festive period.”Cllr John Rawson, cabinet member for built environment, added: “This Sunday parking deal is one of the ways in which Cheltenham is rolling out the welcome mat for visitors to Cheltenham this Christmas.

“We want to make Sundays in December ‘No Rush Sundays’ for visitors. We want to give them the chance to stay for longer and enjoy more of what the town has to offer, including the fantastic shops, the terrific restaurants and cafés, the Christmas lights and the beautiful parks and gardens.

“The Council hopes that the special parking deal will be self-funding by attracting more visitors to the town. If it is successful we will consider extending the scheme in future years.”
