Longfield Hospice launches their Butterfly Appeal

Longfield Hospice

A Gloucestershire hospice has launched the Butterfly Appeal, a unique way to honour loved ones by turning memories into a work of art.

When you give to the appeal, Longfield Hospice in Minchinhampton will reserve an eye–catching purple butterfly just for you. Before it’s yours to keep, your butterfly will be part of a poignant art installation at Gloucester Cathedral and Stroud’s Museum in the Park.

Imagine the mesmerising sight of 1,000 beautiful butterflies - each one dedicated in memory of a loved one. With their symbolism of hope and new beginnings, a visit to the butterflies is an opportunity to stop and reflect on someone special to you.

To be part of this extraordinary memorial, go to longfield.org.uk/butterfly-appeal and make a minimum donation of £25. You can also email events@longfield.org.uk or call the team on 01453 886868. Anyone can support the appeal, whether your loved one was cared for by Longfield Hospice or not.

The butterfly artwork is on display in the cloister garden at Gloucester Cathedral from 26 June to 11 July 2021 and Museum in the Park from 14 July to 24 July 2021. When the display ends, the butterfly is yours to keep. Display it at home or in the garden, as a lasting tribute to someone special.

The money raised from the Butterfly Appeal will help support patients across Gloucestershire with life-limiting illnesses. Longfield Hospice offers FREE care and support for patients and their families, including alternative therapies, counselling and expert care in the home.
