Volunteer to make a world of difference at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre
WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre are looking to recruit volunteers within visitor facing roles to help support their visitor experience team. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, learn new skills or spend time in an inspiring environment, there’s a volunteer role for you at Slimbridge. Just a few hours spent volunteering can make a world of difference.
Thanks to support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Slimbridge have been developing nine new exciting and immersive wildlife experiences to help visitors get even closer to nature.
They are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of engagement roles from welcoming visitors to the centre, leading tours of Scott House to guiding visitors through their new exhibits.
Fran Penny, Visitor Experience Manager said “We are recruiting volunteers to help bring our exhibits to life, engaging visitors in our conservation work and wonderful wetland species!”
Volunteers from all walks of life are welcome to apply, and the flexible volunteer opportunities available range from regular commitments to just a few hours and can be adapted to suit your circumstances.
Visitors are invited to attend a Volunteer Online Open Day on either 25, 30, 31 March, 8, 15 or 18 April. The online sessions will provide more information on Slimbridge Wetland Centre, the volunteering opportunities they have on offer, and how volunteering at Slimbridge can benefit you. Members of the volunteering team will be present and you can hear from existing volunteers too. They’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and sessions last around 1 hour.
