An Extended Week-Long Celebration at Sudeley Castle: 2nd - 8th September

This year, Sudeley Castle is expanding its usual annual Katherine Parr Day into a captivating week-long event, coinciding with the release of the new film FIREBRAND. From 2nd to 8th September, the castle will celebrate the life and legacy of Katherine Parr, the remarkable Queen who survived Henry VIII.

Explore the Legacy of a Queen

As guests wander through the historic grounds of Sudeley Castle, they will discover the captivating story of Katherine Parr. Exhibitions will explore her dangerous yet devout beliefs, her significant influence as Queen, and the love story that began before her royal marriage and continued after Henry’s death.

A Royal Resting Place

The journey will lead visitors to the intimate St Mary’s Chapel, where Katherine Parr is laid to rest. Here, they will have the chance to view a replica of a 16th-century dress based on a portrait of Katherine, alongside a display of artefacts including a prayer book, love letters, and other items featured in the highly anticipated film FIREBRAND, starring Jude Law as Henry VIII and Alicia Vikander as Katherine Parr.

SPECIAL OFFER for ALL Katherines & Catherines

In honour of the Queen who survived, Sudeley Castle is offering free entry throughout the celebration week to anyone named Katherine or Catherine, regardless of spelling.

WIN an Exclusive Film Screening

Throughout the week, visitors can enter a special competition for a chance to attend an exclusive screening of FIREBRAND at Sudeley Castle.

Fifty winners will have the opportunity to view Katherine Parr’s story come to life in the very place where her legacy endures.

Sunday, 8th September: History Comes Alive

On the final day of the event, historical re-enactors will bring the past to life, portraying Katherine Parr, her Tudor ladies, and Thomas Seymour. This will be a unique opportunity to experience history in a vibrant, immersive way.
