Autumn is well and truly upon us. The temperature has dropped and the garden has become awash with fallen leaves and we have just about got over our ‘missing’ summer.
On the positive side there’s an awful lot going on in Gloucestershire and we have been extremely busy. The times Cheltenham Literature Festival is underway and there are some very impressive names attending this year. The festival just goes from strength to strength each year. We have tickets for to give away for the finale of the Festival featuring Toni Morrison.
The Autumn half term holiday is upon us later this month and as it includes Halloween we have decided to dedicate a whole section to it (there’s even a couple of video clips to get you in the mood and a competition to win a Ghosts of Gloucestershire DVD). There are some great events planned and one of the major highlights is Frightmare at Over Farm, with activities for children during the day and scarier stuff for the grown ups later on.
It’s a fantastic time of the year for a walk taking in the amazing autumn colours and collecting berries and conkers along the way. The Forest of Dean is a magical place at this time of year as is Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury. So get the family wrapped up and go and Explore…

Christmas in Gloucestershire 2008
It may seem a long way off but we all know it will be upon us sooner than we think. Our Christmas section is now ready and being updated on a daily basis. We have tried to make it easy to navigate so it’ll be easy to find Santa in Gloucestershire and when the Christmas lights are being switched on. We have a few ideas for the more unusual gifts as well so if you want to buy your loved one a skydiving thrill, a train driving experience, be a zoo keeper for a day or adopt an animal then look no further… Add us to your favourites for a useful reference. Again updated daily. |
