Kicking off proceedings at 11.00am and 12noon will be the Caring Chorus Community Choir, followed at 1.00pm and 2.00pm by the Cathedral Youth Choir and rounding the day off at 3.00pm and 4.00pm with the St. Cecilia Singers.

There will be seasonal refreshments available in the Cathedral Coffee Shop and don’t forget to visit the Cathedral Gift Shop while you are here to find that special Christmas gift. A treasure trove of beautiful decorations and gifts, fantastic Christmas cards, delicious award-winning Christmas mead, and angels everywhere! It’s a small shop offering a very warm welcome.

On Saturday evening at 7.00pm, Gloucester's foremost chamber choir, Saint Cecilia Singers, present favourite carols and readings for Christmas, including William Mathias’ majestic carol sequence ‘Ave Rex’. Tickets are £15, (free for children under 18) and are available from www.saintceciliasingers.org.uk , Gloucester Tourist Information Centre (01452 396572) or on the door on the night.

At 6.00pm on Sunday 18 December the Cathedral’s magnificent organ will be the focal point for ‘La Nativité Du Seigneur;’ - Olivier Messiaen’s great Christmas cycle for organ performed by the Cathedral’s Assistant Director of Music, Jonathan Hope.
Admission is free with a retiring collection in aid of Cathedral Music.

Our younger visitors will have lots of fun with our new free trail ‘Angel’s Delight’ that will have them following clues in search of angels,  and if you haven’t heard yet, one of those angels will be our stunning 8ft tall ‘Tea Angel’, our latest exhibition which is on display in the Lady Chapel until 31 December.

Of course all the family will want to see the amazing ‘Knitivity’. We are delighted to announce that this year several new members have joined the cast of this delightful life size Nativity scene, all lovingly created by community groups from around the county.
