Europe's biggest mobile log flume comes to Gloucester!

Gloucester Park Log Flume ride

Europe’s biggest mobile 'Log Flume' makes a splash in Gloucester!
Visitors to Gloucester Festival’s traditional funfair are set to get a soaking this summer - but this year it’s got nothing to do with the weather!

Last July’s funfair in Gloucester Park was all but abandoned after the floods, so its operators are determined to give the city the ride of their lives over the coming two weeks with the arrival of ‘Jungle River’, Europe’s biggest travelling log flume.

A 100 tonne crane is used to build the Jungle River structure, which takes a team of 12 people three days to build. The ride twists and turns its way along 160 feet of flume with two big drops, the highest of which is almost fifty feet.

Other facts and figures about Jungle River are:

  • The ride pumps 2,000 litres of water in a loop around its course every minute.
  • It was built in France and takes six trailers to transport it from place to place.
  • The ride measures 80 feet wide by 160 feet long.

Ride owner Emily Danter says: “Jungle River is one of the most popular rides we’ve ever toured, and always draws a big crowd of people who are eager to get wet or just watch others getting soaked!”

The mobile 'Log Flume' in Gloucester - Where, when and how much?

  • The funfair in Gloucester Park is open from Friday 18 July - Sunday 3 August 2008.
  • Tuesdays 22nd and 29th July are ‘£1 saver days’, when all rides cost £1 (including Jungle River).
