Cookery Theatre to be a big draw at the Cotswold Show
After its successful debut at last year’s Show, the professional Cookery Theatre will once again be a key attraction for foodies at this year’s Cotswold Show.
Well known and award winning chefs from Cotswolds hotels and restaurants will be demonstrating their skills in front of an audience in a special marquee.
Emily Watkins, a winner on the BBC’s Great British Menu and chef proprietor at The Kingham Plough will be showcasing the ‘perfect picnic’ while Tom Conway from The Potting Shed in Crudwell plans to wow the crowd with locally grown Waygu beef.
Also featured will be Nik Chappell from The Slaughters Manor House (previously Lower Slaughter Manor), Francesco Volgo from Barnsley House Hotel and Wesley Birch from Birch Catering in Stroud.
In total, 10 chefs will be cooking up and storm and hopefully providing some tasters over the weekend.
Adjacent to the Theatre will be the ever popular Food Hall with 50 tradestands of culinary and kitchen delights. There will also be two large catering areas offering a wide range of picnic foods including Gloucester Spot pork, fresh seafood, ribs and brisket, and even Cotswold pizzas from local duo Baz and Fred.
Now in its 28th year, the Cotswold Show and Food Festival remains one of the Cotswold’s most popular rural events, with its winning mix of family entertainment, arena attractions, and 300 trade stands, showcasing the best of the British countryside, its history, traditions and produce with some inspiring traders from further afield as well.
The Show’s original ethos “where town meets country” is still adhered to 28 years on with masses to see and do for the whole family throughout the weekend including tree climbing and bungee trampolines, an old fashioned fun fair and donkey rides.
Show Partners, BPE Solicitors and Moore Allen and Innocent, will both be prominent at the Show with their own stands featuring entertainment and refreshments for clients.
Tickets for the Show are on sale via the website www.cotswoldshow.co.uk which is constantly being updated with new attractions as they are confirmed.
