Calling All Budding Young Actors this Summer
This summer join the Everyman Theatre for two fun weeks exploring how actors can imaginatively use their bodies to communicate meaning to an audience, with the aid of some of our best loved musical numbers. You will have the opportunity to sing, dance and act in extracts from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Barnum, Seussical the Musical, Children of Eden, Cabaret, West Side Story, Blood Brothers, Grimm Tales and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
In week one you will get the chance to learn from some theatre professionals, then in week two you will join forces with Cheltenham’s own Peter Gill's Rock School Band who will accompany you in rehearsals and play live for your performance on the Everyman Theatre’s main stage on 12th August for family and friends. There is also an opportunity to work towards gaining an Arts Award, a recognised national qualification which assesses both arts-related and other transferable skills.
This course is designed, not only to develop existing talent, but nurture confidence to bring out the best in young people both on and off stage. It will encourage creativity, as well as effective communication, planning and teamwork skills and ensure a great deal of fun is had by all!
For information email louise.partridge@everymantheatre.org.uk or call the Box Office on 01242 572573. The cost for two weeks, to include the final stage show, is £200 and runs from 1 – 12 August.
