Corinium Museum Awarded Museum Resilience Fund Support

Corinium Museum Awarded Museum Resilience Fund Support

The Corinium Museum has been awarded £62,100 from the Arts Council England Museum Resilience Fund for its project “Beyond Corinium”.

This exciting project aims to develop the museums long-term resilience, including using digital technology in their marketing and business planning.  An updated website with the facility of online bookings will enable people to book events and activities easily.  There will also be new software to help volunteers and a user-friendly searchable collections database.

The Museum resilience fund supports museums in adapting to economic, environmental and social changes so they can continue delivering high quality work.

Phil Gibby, Area Director, South West, Arts Council England, said: “Corinium Museum is an award-winning museum with an outstanding collection and we are delighted to be supporting it through the Museum Resilience Fund.  By investing £62,100 we are helping the museum move towards a more sustainable future and open up the treasures of our history to even more people in the future.”

Amanda Hart, Museum Director, said: “We are delighted that the Arts Council England has given us this vital funding support which will radically transform our online presence and help us to achieve our long term resilience goals as a Museum. The project “Beyond Corinium” will raise our profile and help us to reach a wide audience. We want to share our incredible collections with as many people as possible both in the museum and virtually.”
